Unify partnered with the Scw’exmx Tribal Council to secure funding and develop a workforce training program focused on energy-efficient construction.
The program was shaped by community priorities around housing and employment, with a focus on building practical skills that could be applied locally. Training combined classroom learning with hands-on construction, allowing participants to contribute directly to the development of housing for Elders.
Working with leadership, we aligned the program with longer-term infrastructure and housing needs across member communities. This ensured training was tied to real projects, not standalone certification. Alongside program delivery, Unify supported planning for employment and social development linked to the clean energy transition, identifying pathways for participants to move into ongoing work.
The result is a training model that builds local capacity in sustainable construction while delivering immediate community benefit–supporting both workforce readiness and the development of much-needed housing.
