Unify worked alongside the Nisga’a Nation across four communities to support the development of a coordinated plan for clean energy and infrastructure projects. The work focused on turning community-identified priorities into clear, actionable projects that could move toward implementation and investment.
The process began with engagement across communities to understand priorities related to energy, infrastructure, governance, and long-term economic development. This ensured the strategy reflected the needs of each community while supporting a more coordinated, Nation-wide approach.
Working closely with leadership and technical staff, we supported the development of a shared roadmap that scoped individual projects, identified infrastructure needs, and outlined practical next steps for moving projects forward. This included assessing project readiness, clarifying implementation pathways, and aligning planning efforts across communities to reduce duplication and strengthen coordination.
A key part of the work involved supporting funding and investment readiness. This included identifying relevant public and private funding opportunities, mapping permitting requirements, and developing the documentation needed to position projects for capital. Rather than focusing only on high-level strategy, the work was designed to ensure projects could realistically move forward.
Throughout, the focus remained on supporting Nisga’a governance and internal capacity. Coordination across communities and departments helped strengthen the Nation’s ability to lead future projects independently, with tools and processes that can continue to be used beyond this initiative. Together, this work established a clear foundation for advancing energy and infrastructure projects across the Nisga’a Nation–supporting long-term development that is coordinated, investment-ready, and grounded in community priorities.
