Echen/Nazko First Nation Clean Energy Training & Economic Development Planning

Unify partnered with the Echen Healing Society to support the development of clean energy programming through the Echen Training Institute, alongside a broader socio-economic development plan for the urban Indigenous community in Quesnel.

Through close collaboration with Echen leadership and community members, we co-developed training pathways aligned with both local needs and emerging opportunities in the clean energy sector. This included curriculum development, impact analysis, and hands-on planning to ensure programs were practical, accessible, and positioned for long-term success.

In parallel, we worked with partners across Quesnel to better understand systemic barriers to employment and identify opportunities for infrastructure, workforce development, and energy transition. This integrated approach connected training directly to real economic pathways–ensuring that skills development efforts were tied to tangible opportunities on the ground.

As part of this work, Unify supported the successful acquisition of $110,000 in funding to advance green energy training and infrastructure. Beyond immediate outcomes, the project helped strengthen local capacity, expand access to employment pathways, and lay the groundwork for community-led clean energy planning in the years ahead.
